Tips for better results

  • - Be specific about style, colors, and mood
  • - Include lighting and composition details
  • - Use artistic style references like "photorealistic" or "watercolor"
  • - For image-to-image, upload multiple reference images for better results
  • - Describe how you want to transform all uploaded images
  • - If generation fails, try switching to a different model in the dropdown for different results and fewer restrictions

Nano Banana 2.1 for product image exploration

Build a catalog image around the product you already have. Use a reference to request a new backdrop, compare a color direction or explore a material treatment, then check the generated details against the actual item.

Give each product detail a place in the brief

A useful product prompt separates the item itself from the surroundings you want to change.

Describe the catalog shot

Specify camera angle, object scale, surface, shadows and space around the item. Every request needs a prompt; up to 20,000 characters are available for the brief.

Show the item and its details

Supply up to 14 JPEG, PNG or WebP references, each no larger than 30 MB. Identify which shows the product, which shows a close-up, and which is only a backdrop reference.

Frame it for the placement

Try 1:1 for a product tile or 4:5 for a taller composition. The generator offers Auto and 14 fixed ratios, 1K/2K/4K resolution, and JPG or PNG output.

From a product reference to a visual direction

A catalog often needs both a clear view of an item and a setting that explains how it might be used. Nano Banana 2.1 on NanaBanana2 AI lets you describe either shot, or ask for an edit guided by your product photos.

Changing a fabric, finish or color creates a concept to assess. It does not verify a real product variant. Before using an image in a listing, compare shape, proportions, labels, texture and included accessories with the item being sold.

Keep the comparison focused

Ask for one change at a time, such as moving a bottle onto a pale stone surface. Compare the result with the original before requesting another change.

Start with a catalog draft

Fresh 2.1 settings use 1K, Auto and JPG. Nano Banana 2.1 has its own model selection alongside Nano Banana 2; check the selected model and settings before submitting.

Decide what the image needs to communicate

Set the viewing context and generation budget before developing a product direction.

Price each proposed shot

A 1K image costs 2 credits, 2K costs 4, and 4K costs 6. Product and detail references do not carry a separate reference fee.

Plan room for the surrounding layout

Use a fixed ratio when the catalog placement is known. Request empty space for copy or pricing, then add and proofread that information in your layout.

Inspect the file you will publish

Download JPG or PNG and check edges, logos and material details at the intended display size. A PNG file does not imply a transparent background.

Two product briefs with different review criteria

Use these prompts as starting points; the real item remains the source for checking product accuracy.

A ceramic mug in a new setting

Upload a mug photo, choose Image to Image and 1:1. Prompt: “Place this mug on a warm gray tabletop with a plain cream backdrop and soft side light. Keep its handle shape, rim thickness and visible glaze pattern. Add no other objects.” Review the handle, rim and any markings against the photo.

A backpack color-block concept

Upload a backpack photo and select 4:5. Prompt: “Change the sand-colored side pockets to olive green, keeping the main navy fabric, straps, zipper positions and camera angle as shown. Use a plain light gray background.” Compare the pocket seams and hardware with the original. This is a color proposal, not evidence of an available product variant.

Prepare a product edit for review

Use a simple sequence for each catalog candidate.

1

Collect a clear product view

Choose Text to Image for an imagined concept or Image to Image for a reference-based edit. Describe the item and label each reference by its role.

2

Specify one change and the output

Write what must remain, then the backdrop, color or material to explore. Choose the ratio, resolution and file format, and check the displayed credit cost.

3

Compare with the real item

Sign in and submit. When the image is complete, inspect product details, download your candidate and revisit the task in My Creations if needed.

Product image planning questions

Practical limits, costs and checks for catalog work.

What does each product image draft cost?

NanaBanana2 AI prices a 1K generation at 2 credits, 2K at 4, and 4K at 6. Adding product photographs or swatches does not add a separate reference charge.

Can I supply a product photo and a material sample together?

Yes. Use up to 14 JPEG, PNG or WebP references, with a limit of 30 MB per image. An accessible public HTTP or HTTPS image URL is also supported under the same file limits. Explain which reference represents the item and which represents a proposed material.

Which ratios can I use for catalog layouts?

The 15 ratio choices are auto, 1:1, 2:3, 3:2, 1:4, 4:1, 3:4, 4:3, 4:5, 5:4, 1:8, 8:1, 9:16, 16:9 and 21:9. Choose among 1K, 2K and 4K separately; a fixed ratio helps you plan the placement.

Will an edited product stay accurate enough for a listing?

Accuracy is not guaranteed. Even a background edit can change the item. Use the required prompt, up to 20,000 characters, to state what should remain, then manually compare shape, color, labels and accessories with the real product before publishing.

Which settings should I check before a catalog request?

The initial settings are 1K resolution, Auto ratio and JPG. Change them if the placement needs a fixed ratio or PNG. Nano Banana 2.1 does not include a Google Search setting, so supply your own product information and references.

Are credits returned if a product draft fails?

Generation credits are refunded when the task is confirmed as failed. If a response is slow or a status check is temporarily unavailable, check the existing task again; either condition alone does not establish failure.

Start with one product and one change

Bring a clear product reference, describe the setting or finish to explore, and compare the result with the item in front of you.
