GPT Image 2.5 for Product Photos and Everyday Promotions
A useful edit starts with a clear boundary: what stays, what changes and where the image will appear. On NanaBanana2, give GPT Image 2.5 your product photo or a written concept, then describe the new background, layout or message. Generate one result and inspect the details before publishing.
Turn a source photo into a focused editing brief
Work on the background, framing or visual message without losing sight of the original subject.
Tell the model what to keep
Name the product shape, material and colors you want retained. Check those details in the output instead of assuming an exact match.
Separate subject and setting references
Use one image for the item and another for the scene or palette. Up to 16 references can accompany a required text prompt.
Choose the promotion format
Plan a square product image, a 4:5 social post or a 9:16 vertical visual. All ten fixed ratios and Auto remain available at 4K.
Another way to edit images on NanaBanana2
GPT Image 2.5 supports both starting from words and editing with image references. Flare is the default version; Sunburst can be selected before submitting. Each request gives you one image to assess, not a batch of variations.
The credit cost follows the output resolution: 3 for 1K, 5 for 2K and 7 for 4K. Both versions and both input modes use those prices. Reference photos have no additional per-image charge.
Small edits need precise instructions
Describe the intended change and the untouched subject separately. For labels or fine markings, compare the result with the original.
Fit the destination from the start
Choose the ratio for the listing or post before generating so your brief can account for the available space.
A practical workspace for the next promotion
Keep the editing request narrow enough to judge the result.
Product-first descriptions
Describe the item before the surroundings and name the features that must remain recognizable.
Text as a checked element
Quote the exact wording you want in a poster. Proofread every word in the generated image before using it.
Clear cost per attempt
A 1K attempt uses 3 credits; 2K and 4K use 5 and 7. A revised prompt starts a new, separately charged request.

Editing prompts for a small product launch
Use your own product photos and replace the sample wording with the real promotion.
A clean catalog setting
Upload a ceramic mug photo. Prompt: "Keep the mug shape, handle and blue glaze from image 1. Place it on a matte cream surface against a warm gray studio background, soft shadow to the right, product centered, no extra props or text." Choose 1:1; compare the handle and glaze with the source.
A weekend promotion poster
Prompt: "A 4:5 poster for a neighborhood flower stall, yellow tulips in a white bucket in the lower half, pale green background, headline exactly WEEKEND FLOWERS, smaller text SATURDAY 9 AM, simple dark green lettering." Select 4:5 and check the wording, spacing and legibility in the result.
A seasonal backdrop
Attach the product photo and a second image illustrating a seasonal palette. Explain that the second reference should influence colors and scenery, not replace the product.
A vertical social composition
Describe a single item toward the lower third with clear space above it for a later overlay. Generate in 9:16 and review the framing on a phone-sized preview.
From product photo to reviewed result
Prepare the source, describe the edit and check the details that matter.
Upload and define the change
Add relevant images and state what each represents. Specify the background, crop and text you want; a non-empty prompt is required.
Select output and version
Use Flare or Sunburst, set the aspect ratio and select 1K, 2K or 4K. Check the displayed price before generation.
Compare before using
Review logos, labels, product geometry and any requested text. Download the result when ready or find the task in My Creations.
Questions about editing product and social images
Input limits, output choices and iteration costs.
Will the product stay pixel-identical?
Do not assume that a generative edit preserves every detail. Specify the features to keep, then inspect the output against the original before using it.
Can I change the words on a poster?
Provide the poster as a reference and quote the desired replacement wording in your prompt. Review the generated lettering; this is image generation, not a layer-based text editor.
Can I create many sizes at once?
One request creates one image at one selected ratio and resolution. Submit separate requests for additional formats.
What do Flare and Sunburst cost?
Each is 3 credits for 1K, 5 for 2K and 7 for 4K. Up to 16 reference images can be used without a reference surcharge.
Can I cancel an edit after submission?
Submitted tasks cannot be cancelled. You can leave the page and return to My Creations to follow the result.
When are credits returned?
The full generation charge is refunded when a generation is confirmed to have failed. Temporary status or storage errors can remain retryable and do not by themselves mean the task failed.
